Care, Strength, and Support for Sworn and Civilian Personnel The mission of the Los Angeles Police Cancer Support Group (LAPCSG) is to support members of the law enforcement community—including active sworn and civilian employees, retirees, and their families—by providing a compassionate place to turn following a cancer diagnosis. LAPCSG offers understanding, strength, and peer support, along with access to educational resources, as individuals and families navigate the challenges of cancer and its impact on their lives.
Through our shared bond and lived experiences, we provide hope, encouragement, and connection to those facing cancer, reminding them they are not alone. Through this same bond, we promote awareness and education within our law enforcement family on the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, screenings, and routine physical examinations. Together, we walk this journey—supporting one another with dignity, compassion, and strength. It is through this shared bond that we fulfill our mission.
Supporting the law enforcement family through cancer—with compassion, connection, and hope.
“Cancer changed everything for our family. My husband was diagnosed, and suddenly the strength we relied on at work wasn’t enough at home. Connecting with others who understood law enforcement life gave us hope when we needed it most.” — LAPD Family Member
“Balancing work, treatment, and raising young children felt overwhelming. Knowing there were others in the law enforcement family who had walked this path gave us strength we didn’t know we had.” — Survivor
